LIVING BED
Furniture that makes the room bigger
Bed made by professionals of architecture x furniture x tatami mats
The "建築家二人暮らし" (channel name), which is a Youtube channel that transmits information about 'things' and 'things' related to living centering on interior design with a focus on values as an architect, and Asahikawa Furniture Studio's "WAKASA" have collaborated to create a bed. This furniture is a collaboration between "WAKASA", a furniture studio in Asahikawa, Japan.
A Western-style room, but with tatami mats for relaxation.
It is often difficult to incorporate tatami in modern housing (especially in rented rooms), but "LIVING BED" is a piece of furniture that is both Western and Japanese. The design blends in with a variety of interiors.
Living with Tatami makes one feel nostalgic and calm. Tatami has such potential as an interior material that suits the coziness of Japanese people.
Hironari furniture
Igusa roll
Collaboration in Yamagata Prefecture. Hironari Furniture produces custom-made and custom-built furniture.
Furniture craftsmen carefully create furniture one by one. Simple and natural furniture. Rustic and gentle furniture. There is a world view that only Hironari Furniture can bring out.
The furniture is mainly made of domestic wood and has a simple design that makes the most of the texture of the material.
The knots and splits in the wood are used as accents to give a sense of the warmth of the wood, and we expected a soft match with tatami mats, so we asked him to produce a bench in solid wood with a "Igusa Roll" seat surface made of rush grass and tatami, a product developed in-house by TATAMI-TO.
It was purchased by a customer in the U.S. and installed at the bedside in a Western-style room.
It is a collaboration furniture of wood and Tatami that blends softly into the Western room space.
